Purchasing Assistant

Due to internal promotion we now have an immediate opening for a Purchasing Assistant.

As a Purchasing Assistant you will work alongside the Purchasing Manager with the aim to increase efficiency within the department.

Key responsibilities will include the raising and progressing of orders with our global supplier base; liaising with suppliers via phone and email, and liaising with internal and external sales to update on deliveries from suppliers. You will be responsible for reviewing inventory and monitoring stock levels; entering forecast, checking invoices and working with accounts payable.

The candidate will also help source suppliers and negotiate prices, and should deliver excellence in customer service.

Keyboard skills, and experience using Microsoft Excel, are essential. Proven experience of working in a similar purchasing environment, and experience of MRP systems, would be preferred.

It would be a distinct advantage to have gained your experience in a distribution based environment; although this is not a necessity. You will be an excellent communicator, show strong attention to detail and be able to lead office projects, support multiple departments and be flexible to working with multiple tasks.
